The Cambridge Advanced National (AAQ) in Human Biology is a Level 3 qualification, taught from September 2025, that’s designed to give you both scientific knowledge and hands-on skills.
There are two versions of the qualification:
H049 – Certificate → the size of an AS Level (180 guided learning hours)
H149 – Extended Certificate → the size of a full A Level (360 guided learning hours)
Both are recognised by UCAS, which means you can use them to apply for university courses in science, health, and beyond.
The course covers the essentials of how the human body works, with exciting and applied topics such as
